ABOUT THE NEW MOON FOLK CLUB
The New Moon Folk Club is located on Treaty Six Territory, the traditional gathering place for many Indigenous peoples. We honour and respect the history, language, ceremonies, and culture of the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit that call this territory home and are reminded that we are all treaty people.
The New Moon Folk Club is a not-for-profit society, led entirely by volunteers and dedicated to the following guiding principles:
1) Our primary artistic direction is contemporary folk music
2) Our concerts are affordable and accessible
3) We aim for diversity in our season line-up
4) We feature high quality, established artists and we love to promote emerging artists
The New Moon Folk Club builds on the 30-year legacy of the Full Moon Folk Club, which decided to close in 2015. The club's revival has been a true community effort. We thank Alberta Foundation for the Arts & Mr. Doug Taylor for their financial support!
